In Depth: New HTC One spied from more angles

As HTC's March 25 event rapidly approaches we're seeing more leaks of the rumoured new HTC One, and the latest report shows us the device from multiple angles.

The device in the picture is sitting alongside the larger HTC One Max, and there's a clear gulf in size between the two.

The 6-inch phablet dwarfs the supposedly new HTC One which is thought to be sporting a full HD screen around the 5-inch mark.

Maxing out

These images were picked up by French site nowhereelse after being spotted on social network Weibo, and a point to note is the location of the headphone jack which has been moved from the top to the base of the device.

Those twin camera lenses we've been hearing so much about also make it onto the rear of the device, as does the China Mobile and 4G LTE logos.

There's potentially good news for storage fans, as there appears to be a tray slot on either side of the handset - one of which may possibly house microSD capabilities.

Of course this could be a dual-SIM variant of the new HTC One, but we're now only a couple of weeks away from finding out all the information.

LG G3 may follow Sony and Samsung with waterproof body

LG G3 may follow Sony and Samsung with waterproof body

The LG G3 is now being tipped to sport a dust- and waterproof body as the rugged features make their way onto more flagship smartphones.

According to Korean site ETNews, a source has revealed that LG believes the waterproof features on the likes of the Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z2 are key for smartphones in 2014.

We already know that we'll see the LG G3 later this year, but in terms of specs the trail is still pretty cold.

LG will have to get shift on with the launch of the G3 though, as we've already seen Samsung's and Sony's efforts this year and HTC has lined up an event on March 25 for the all new One.

The G3 may be about to be left behind before it's even jumped in the pool.

New HTC One won't drop ultrapixel camera

New HTC One won't drop ultrapixel camera

We'd already seen various leaks suggesting the new HTC One is unlikely to drop the ultrapixel camera technology which adorned its predecessor and now the Taiwanese firm's latest teaser for the handset has confirmed just that.

The video highlights the ultrapixel camera on the HTC One was able to reduce the loss of dynamic range and sensitivity while allowing it to capture 300% more light than other high-end smartphones.

HTC is adding to this on the new One, but the video doesn't go as far as to say what those additions might actually be.

Double trouble

If you believe the plethora of rumours the big addition on the new HTC One appears to be the inclusion of a second camera lens on the rear of the handset.

This means the new HTC One should be a decent candidate for a low-light snapper - a selling point which Nokia currently prides itself on.

We'll find out for sure what the new HTC One is rocking on March 25, where the phone will be unveiled at a special launch event.

BLIP: Marvel Unlimited for iOS update brings 'adaptive audio' soundtracks to comics

BLIP: Marvel Unlimited for iOS update brings 'adaptive audio' soundtracks to comics

Marvel has bestowed some new superpowers on its Marvel Unlimited app for iOS, integrating the adaptive audio technology it has been working on in its secret evil lairs for over a year.

Starting with five issues of Captain America: The Winter Solder, the company is adding cover-to-cover soundtracks with the hope of upping the drama and improving the reading experience for fans.

The adaptive part comes through gauging how fast readers progress through the panels. If users spend a long time on a particular panel, the music will loop. Skip forward and it will seamlessly segue to the next part of the score.

Other changes to the new app, which is available now, sees Marvel shift from HTML 5 to native iOS code for faster transitions. The Android version of the app is close too.

More blips!

There's no adaptive audio with these blips, but they're still essential reading.
